How are you tightening the belt? This wouldn't really apply to the original set up posted. Especially if you don't have a tensioner pulley.

right, i don't have tensioner. i don't have adjustment. just bringing up an old thread to see how to mount a tensioner and go with a longer belt. i think since all parts are new, that im running hot because of the belt slipping on water pump pulley. any good or bad suggestions?

If it was slipping you should hear it I'd think. Is it a new issue since install?

i don't think so...anyone know this to be true?

If you don't have a means to tension the belt (spring loaded tensioner, turnbuckle, etc.) this set up WILL NOT WORK.
