95 Mph

My sy will only go 95 when i get to 95 it hits the rev limiter and just won't shift i just bought it and it is bone stock with 48000 miles. I need some advice I thought aboubt adjusting the tv cable but i figured i should ask here first.

you need the 3-4 wot shift sleeve gm has discontinued them last year, but i belive sonnax makes them still..

contact george blake on the board here, aka (prime gears) he will fix you up with everything that you need.

Try doing the Drive to OD shift manually.

ok then, you need the upshift sleeve, contact george blake, it isn't that expensive.

You could also have non syty valve body or someone put in a shift kit and used to large of 3-4 accumulator spring.

I highly doubt that the guy i bough it from did any thing to it he was the first owner and it does not look like the trans has ever been pulled.

It is not a trans issue it is a chip issue. Factory chips were limited to 99 Mph. My truck did it #444 and know #1193 (orig owner) did it too. What # is your truck?

His truck has no 4th gear under any conditions. He's cleaning out the valvebody and governor. If that doesn't fix it, it'll have to come down. There a chance its the servo but not likely. Most likely the band has damage if its not a valvebody issue.
Computer does not control 3-4 upshift at WOT. That's controlled by the throttle vavle, 3-4 valve, line bias valve and the governor.
The old hydraulic transmissions are very picky on sticky valves.

I cleaned out the valvebody and governor and got it to shift and made it past 120 M.P.H thanks alot i feel much better not having that to worry about. I have truck number 1023.

Get an inline filter and run it after the cooler on the way back to the trans on the return line. You want one of these:

Your getting debris and this will help keep it out of the trans. Put it somewhere convenient.
