No flames, but you do realize that selection of a TC is more than "brand selection"...
-Lockup or nonLockup
-Stall Speed/Rpm selection
-Motor buildup (cam, torque, hp, rpm output)
-Correct Installation (lubeguard, pre-filling, proper seating)
-Correct Transmission operation/adjustment
-Proper cable and linkage adjustment

Lastly, my advice, ride in a Sy/Ty with an aftermarket TC. Many of the
listmembers dont know "proper operation" and driving
characteristics of a custom TC when driven on the street.
For example, are you a "shifter", 1-2-3-OD......or D-to-OD person....or strickly OD.

Not saying you dont know, or haven`t thought of these items above.
Just saying, some people like Levi`s, other`s Wrangler, still other designer jeans.
LIke boxer-briefs, a lot depends on what you like, want, and intended use (ie maybe
your a free-spirited-no-underwear kinda guy...and are strictly business.)

Works great on the street. Drives around like normal....hell I drive it to work a couple days/week.

Re: 9/11 t/c

I daily drive my 3000 stall unit and it has never given me a problem in the last 6 years (mine is one of the EARLY ones from around 1998/99). Matches my combo beautifully and cruises like a tame converter.

I have always had good luck with 9/11s (installed 5 so far in different cars/trucks).

What he said  .

what he said. :) I've installed and or sold prob 2 dozen of them(over the last 8 yrs) and the only problems I've heard about are usually due to prexisting problems with the tranny/driveline that installing any higher stall conv would have done.

let it aso be said that with any conv installation and even without it, you should have a very large trans cooler and grind the last large land off of the PR valve so that you get full time cooling from that large cooler and install at least a 0.500 boost valve to restore the pree drop from grinding the land off.

Re: 9/11 t/c

Agree with above comments. I have a 2600 9/11 mostly stock and it is coupling up torque even with boost. It helped my 0-60 times more than any other mod. I get a very hard lock-up sorta like there is 5th gear. That took some getting used to. It couples up so good it makes my turbo seem too small !

I dont think a stall conv will do much for a stock truck. I would not go over 2800 is I did. if you go that hi your killing off a lot of usable rpm for the stock eng that dies out about 4800.

Re: 9/11 t/c

yes the company you get it from makes all the differeance. the true 9/11 only comes from TCS in the USA. all other 9/11's are just copies and do not compare the the original.

also do not waste your money on a multidisc converter of any type. they rattle and confuse the knock sensor into thinking your eng is coming apart, they also sound terrible at an idle as the multidisc's just rattle around inside the conv.
