How many of you running a 4l80e have a deep transmission pan?

If you are how many extra quarts is yours? 1.5? 3.75? or any other?

And...Does anyone have ground clearance issues with the deep pan?

Eventually I will be purchasing a deep one and wanted to hear any thoughts on the deeper pans.

Stock pan here. In fact it is the one that slopes up towards the back.

You will find that bolting up the transfer case with a deeper than stock pan on the tranny is impossible. You would have to remove the deeper pan, then bolt up transfer case. Also last time I checked a deeper pan for a 80e was pricey, >$200. Plus it is not needed with a 80e. They don't have severe overheating problems like a 700r4.:tup:

I think the Cast Aluminum pans help to ad strength to the case...call it overkill but that is sorta my thing.
The stock pan is staying at least for now until my wallet smoke clears.

Jeremy, are you using the stock radiator cooler? Do you have an aux. cooler?

I run a deep but just to clear the transbrake.

You don't NEED it, i doubt you will split the case without it either.

Jeremy has an aux, doesn't ran radiator one anymore. No heat issues at all.

Close. I run a small auxillary cooler and the stock radiator cooler. Also have a remote tranny filter that helps cool a little. But a bigger pan is overkill. It takes awhile to get over the 700r4 mindset of everthing must be over done to keep it alive. The 80e's are wonderful. You'll be giddy as school girl the first time you take your truck out with it.:lol:
