4L60E Wiring

Ok, Im not getting any responses from the other 2 S10 forums regarding this topic, and even tho these trucks came from the factory with 700R4's, I figure Id try here.

Im thinking of putting a B&M Street Bandit Shifter in my truck and along with billet servos in my 1994 s10. I was wondering if anybody here knew which wires I could put a switch on, so I can shift it myself. I'll use the switch so I can turn this feature on and off. I'll also be sure to shift as hard and fast as possible so the bands dont slip unnecessarily. I'm looking for the upshift wire, as I dont want to play with the governor-so I dont lose the speedo or the odometer.

Does anybody have a wiring diagram or know which wires to use?

#1 a 60e doesn't have a govenor to begin with.

Although it is possible to wire an E tranny to shift with a button, manually it requires more than just 1 wire to be changed.

Although based on your description I am not 100% sure exactly what you are asking either.

i just covered all my bases with my description...sometimes people think that when i want to shift it myself that ill baby the shift and do it real slow...no, Im gunna bang the shifter into the next gear.
So if my 60E doesnt have a governor, how come when i hit 99 the motor shuts down? I always thought that the shifting and the speedo was controlled by the input from the speed sensor-hence, a 60E wont shift if you cut the Governor's hot wire, and youll also lost the speed limiter and the speedo

Because your engine is goverend by a computer, your engine doesn't shut down because your transmission stops :lol:

transmission shifts are controlled/determined by vehicle speed, engine speed and throttle position and/or a variation or degree of all of them.

ok, so then how do I make it so when I flip a switch (or switches) I can shift the damn this myself?

go buy the kit you're wanting to be like and be done with it
