4l60 or 700r4?

[v6stanger]

I was just browsing through a service manual for the syclone and saw the tranny listed as a hydramatic 4l60. I thought I've ben reading these trucks had 700r4's?

they have 700r4's. Same as the corvettes with some different interal parts then the corvette. I think the 4l60's came in the 1500 trucks.

4l60 and 700r4 are the same thing. I believe in 1987 they started calling them 4L60's when they did the upgrades. But essentially they are the same. Then in 93, the 4L60 went to the 4L60e.
