vortec heads

question for all of you..

is the best way to eliminate the, "oh so popular", knock problem to install vortec L35 heads? will this cure the problem? or are there easier substitutes? i would like to know the best way. dont care about price. just looking for a cure.

L35's and vortecs are 2 different heads...although GM would have u think they were the same...OK...Both the L35 and vortec are much better than stock heads but Vortecs(96 and up) are the best but also require much more work...

much more work? explain. you mean fitting them on the block? or configuring them to work with the rest of the engine?

the head will bolt to the block easily. the hard part is the adaptation of the lower intake to the head....you have to drill and tap it for 6 bolts and not 4 bolt...

SO.Are these vortex heads worth the extra work with all the work done to them,how much better are they than the stockers with all the mods?????????.

yes they are...they are better for cooling knock control and you can more timing without deto.
