put a wrench on the tensioner pulley pull it back, and measure it with a taylors tape measure.

i think mine was 52 inches. its a audi tt or something like that. only have the crank pulley, alt and water pump. i went on ebay and typed in "6 rib belt" and scrolled through to find a 52inch belt. then took that part number to auto zone and done. i

Well i went to napa again today an got the next size up 56'' 3/8 belt an it worked out good! My tensioner is close to the water pump pully, i would say about an inch away. But for now it fits an is tight

After doing this mod to my truck a month or so ago and experimenting with different belt sizes and tensioner positions I have found the best length is 55.5" Summit Racing sells a Goodyear Gatorback belt this size. I'm using the stock alternator, crank pulley, water pump pulley, and power steering pulley.

GY belt part number is 4060555 or 6PK1410

The GM part # for the tensioner used is 89017309
