Transmission recommendation.

NEARING

My transmission is heading south and I'm looking to buy one outright instead of a rebuild. I want to limit the down time as the Ty is the only thing I have that is worth a poop in the snow. It's slipping in 3rd with anything more than 5psi, at 10 is like it's in neutral.:(

I would like to keep it around $3000-3500 for the trans, cooler and converter.

Ty has the normal upgrades: 4 bolt main, vortec, comp roller cam and rockers, ATR headers, RPM downpipe and exh. Code 59 and a 44. Looking to add Razors meth kit, front mount and little bigger turbo as I'd like to be mid 11's capable when it's all said and done.

I've found a couple of places selling them for around 2k with converter but I just don't see them lasting very long? I could be wrong.

Thanks.

Re: Transmission recommendation.

I would take your trans to RPM transmission is Anderson Indiana and have them rebuild it. Do it once and do it right.

Re: Transmission recommendation.

Thanks. I'll give them a call Monday.

Call and talk to TJ. Tell them John Gerber sent you. I know them well. I just spent Saturday afternoon with Rodney, the owner, looking at the new building that they will be moving into this spring. Great group of guys.

PS: Among a number of really nice cars, Rodney owns a very nice Sy.
