Re: transfer case swap
I have done eight syty transmissions thus far and I have never used a sealer on the bolts, just used the gasket, and I haven't had one leak. If follow the Helm's syclone service manual supplement, part number X-9176 to the letter, it doesn't call out applying sealer to the bolts either.
You mentioned having the transfer case to transmission gasket (part number 1564-2511) but you didn't say anything about the transfer case to transmission adaptor gasket (part number 1358899). It is a circular seal that goes in between the transmission and the adaptor. You will need that one as well. BTW, the transter case to adaptor gasket only goes on one way so make sure that you have ALL the bolt holes lined up before you install it. If you don't you won't be able install all the bolts due to gasket interference.
You will want to tighten the transfer case adaptor to transmission bolts to 52 Nm or 38 ft. lbs. It will be the same value for the transfer case to adaptor bolts as well. HTH's
