Tranny's Out...

I just pulled my tranny out yesterday, took about 4+ hrs by myself with help lifting it out. I want to know which gaskets and seals should be changed? Is there anything else I should do while it's out?

Was it broke or just freshening it up?

It's starting to shift harder than normal. I did a whole engine swap and want to get everything bullet proof so I purchase a beefed up tranny from this guy who got his truck ripped off. And picked up a new TC from RPM.

you should change out everything except the VB and the case. I install all new running gear in the ones I'm building for my customers. and new stock isn't any better than old stock. their are much better parts out there to be used.

Hi folks,

Tranny in my Sy has been bad for 2 years. Still shifts fine, but there were a few tiny ugly metal pieces in the trans pan, along with fine metal dust. I have been servicing trans for 35 years and know when one is going south.

I'm going to have Waller do mine in the next few months. An added bonus is he lives just an hour from me, as well as probably being one of the best guys in the country for the job.

Just out of curiosity, what ever happened to George Blake. He was posting almost daily for a while, Seems to have dropped off the planet! Contributed a lot of good info--I think!
