Tranny slips

OK. Is there anything in particular that can be causing the tranny to jump out of gear (sorry if I borrow the thread too much but I have a similar problem) and then the tranny starts to slip?

I'm not sure what you mean by jump out of gear. auto's are not like manuals where they will physically jump out of gear. sounds to me like it's just slipping really badly.

if it's physically changing gears ofent and quicly for no reason then the governor could be stuck/sticking. in addition to the TV system in the vb could be stuck.

Jump out of gear = the truck stops moving forward, it says *BANG* and then the rev goes up unitl I release the pedal

It goes into neutral instead

wow thats one screwed up tranny. not sure what to say other than you need to get somebody to look into it as thats got some major problems.

I adjusted the shifter cable, then it stopped jumping out of gear. The shifter cable was not adjusted.. The metal tab at the oil pan was bent alittle when I took the tranny down. Now for the slipping part.. *to be continued*

You mean 2000 km long not 200 I guess sweden shrunk sense i left :lol:
