New Trans sometimes slips between gears

Re: New Trans sometimes slips between gears

Tested today same exact run as the videos above. Same result (recorded again). So apparently this problem persists. I didn't let it cool down this time but did park in the same supermarket spot and pulled the TV cable while in R. Didn't fix it. I wasn't about to wait since I have to meet the fam... NOW really. So I'll upload the vid later, but tomorrow Dave and I will fix the lockup and think of a new strategy. Wish us luck!

Sorry to hear that, that trans is being a pretty good Challange! And PITA... Good luck to you guys tomorrow. Any new ideas?

I wonder if it was rebuilt using cheap parts, instead of the good stuff.

Has to be. They didn't even complete the Shift kit install. ZERO holes were drilled in the valve-body. Only the holes for the separator plate. I'd put money they installed low budget clutches and band. Why not? You'd void the warranty if you drop the pan!

Hopefully we get the lockup working tomorrow and the front drvr upper A-arm bushings replaced to get rid of that turn-click noise (cross-fingers 'n pray). But with our luck a freakn' squirrel will pop out of the engine-bay, give us the finger and bone-out leaving us with a shredded wiring harness and poo in the intake. <- sounds stupid?? Nah, that'll happen!! Just wait until it's in perfect condition!

As for Plan B: Put it on PNO, bag it on the side of the house like the other one and at a later date work on the original trans. I'm not in any rush and the value seems to be going up.

Solenoid wires were reversed, fixed. So lockup is now working. Dave cleaned a valve that goes to the pump. Forgot what it was called. Forward something valve? It goes to the pump. Cant remember now, I didn't get much sleep last night so I was 1/2 asleep the whole day. ;) Took apart the governor. Cleaned. reinstalled. Governor had C weights (big) with a white and yellow springs. Dunno if that's the same as a SyTy?
Driving home I didn't get on it like last time. It shifts softer. Not too soft not hard enough. I would never come to a stoplight in D before because it would engine break too hard right before full stop. But this drive I tried it and it was smooth. No big TUG right before full stop.
That's where I'm at now. I'll take it easy for a while so I don't do any more unnecessary wear. Maybe I'll stick some more Lubeguard in since we changed the fluid in the pan. The good thing is it has all gears + lockup and has good forward movement in all gears. Gotta get some sleep now so I don't have raccoon eyes tomorrow. I'll update as usual.
