MSD ignition

I have an MSD box in my syclone it is not currently hooked up, I have had it connected in the past and seemed to work fine, I unhooked it when I replaced the coil and truck runs great. My question is should I even hook it up again? What are the pros and cons of running MSD or any kind of multi spark box? As of right now truck runs very strong and I am thinking “ if it aint broke don’t fix it” but if there are some valid reasons why I should run the MSD I will hook it up again. I get very little KR @ WOT ….1.2 KR and that’s only for a split second on OD to 2nd downshift and 15 PSI so I am thinking perhaps I should just leave it alone, what do you all think?

Most people don't open up the gap on their plugs when they install a MSD, however it is useless unless you do so. The coil will only produce the amount of spark needed to jump the gap on the plugs....no more. If you increase the gap on the plugs then the MSD will actually "work", but our engines are obviously prone to detonation a little more than others so it's really not a good idea to increase your plug gap. Your probably better off just sticking with a good set of wires, and a conrad cap n' rotor. I'm open to criticizm so let me know if anyone else has benefits from running an MSD box.

MSD's a good idea if you plan on running high boost, without MSD you'll have to run a really tight gap, I run mine at .025 because I'm too cheap to buy the box. My truck ran great til about 23 PSI, then it started blowing out spark, losing like 4 mph.
