Missing vac. hose???

Hi all,

I was doing the bike tube test and I found that air was coming from behind the throttle body. It seemed that there are supposed to be two hoses connected to the throttle. If this is true then the upper hose is missing in my truck. Is this normal??? I kept searching for the loose hose, but it was no where to be seen...

Can anyone tell me if this is true??? Is there really a missing hose???

There should only be one connected to the TB. You will see two outputs on the back and you want it connect to the top one of the two. I forgot what the other was for, but I think its the same TB as some of the v8's used...on our application its not needed. Others may chime in on that more--i can't remember...

Yeah those 2 larger ports on the rear of the TB were used for coolant in other apps.

Mine have plugs, but I dont think not being plugged would leak if all your TB gaskets are good.

Could you tell where the air was coming from exactly? if you were just hearing a leak, but couldn't tell exactly where, coming from the back side of the TB it could be the butterfly shaft leaking some air.
