Any LSx powered F-Body should have an aluminum DS.

Not quite. All manual trans(6speeds) LS1 98-02 f-bodies have a aluminum. Auto's vary. Depends on wether they have a 2.93 rear gear or 3.23. The 3.23 have them. The 3.23 was a high performance option. You could get the 3.23 on either a z28 or SS model. The 2.93 do not. You can easily tell by looking at the build code located on the end of the driver door. 5th digit is GUx if its a GU2 it is a 2.93. GU5 it is a 3.23.:tup:

you still need a loop with a CF shaft NHRA hasnt figured it out yet

Yes this true! One of the reasons for a loop is if a u-joint fails in the yoke with no loop it can vault the car over on its roof!:tdown:

I believe the CF shaft would shatter I think the it is the way it is made.

i have a zr2 alum drive shaft and am having it cut down and balanced for 80 bucks.
