what chip are you running ? Also did you get the numbers from dm or just looking at the tach?

Well when I purchased the truck I was told that it had the factory chip in but everytime I mash the pedle the vdo gauge spits out 16-20max psi so I looked at the chip very briefly and it looks like a normal factory chip might look like.. I have a pitbull that I haven't yet used that also came with the truck. And I was getting those reading from the tach since I don't have data master or diacom.. getting one of the two for xmas though..

idle should be in the 650-750 range. sounds like the boost gremlens are after your motor. need to be real carefull till you get that CHRISTmas present.

20 psi?

other places to look for the high boost cause:
do you have a full exhaust?
bad vac lines on turbo/wg?
bad boost selenoid?
bad wg actuator?
mis-adjusted wg rod?

Thanks for the suggestions... I can say right now without checking any of the adjustments listed above.. that the previous owner opted to due away with the CAT for some reason. What could I do to offset this or should I just find a stock Cat to put back on? the rest of the exhust is a 3inch (looks like a ATR) with muffler.
