All of a sudden yesterday my truck started making sounds of birds chirping in the center area of the front end. I can reproduce the noise while moving in any gear as well as neutral, as soon as I stop the noise is gone. The noise doesn't get louder when I apply the brakes or change speed.

This morning I put the truck up in the air and rotated each wheel with no luck hearing the noise. I then removed the front tires and started the truck up while in drive to shoot the video linked here. Seems that the noise is coming from where the propshaft and the front diff connect. I can also stop the front axles from spinning with my bare hands... Anyone experience chirping noises like this before???

Sounds like the front joint on the propshaft may be the source of the noise. remove the propshaft and see if the noise disappears.

Can't watch the video's they are blocked at work here but the only chirping sounds i've ever had from a syty have came from the propshaft. Stock propshafts have a rubber boot with grease and when it tears the grease leaks out and the joint chirps until it eventually lets go so i'd crawl under and inspect it or remove it and take it for a drive in 2wd and see if the chirping still there.

There's a good chance that it's the propshaft, I would get an upgraded one regardless of if that's the problem or not. When one lets go, there is usually quite a bit of carnage. In the third video, it is normal for only one wheel to turn when there is force against the opposite wheel, that's what sucks about an open diff.

Thanks for the info guys! I removed the propshaft and It seems the noise is gone. I've heard people removing the propshaft and driving in 2wd, but also heard its hard on the viscious coupler? Comments? I'm going to have a driveline shop build a solid shaft.
