Does it matter what side wheels go?

I'm just wondering if wheels are made for certain sides. I realize there are front and back, but will it make any difference. I've had a wheel shake in the front ever since I had new tires mounted. Any insight would be helpful. The shake is from 40 45 mph and then clears up from that point on up to above 100. I noticed the left front has a large piece of lead on the inside and outside.

hi, mine did that same as yours when i has new tires put on my truck. so i went back and they rebalanced them and they are alot better now. ask them the last time they had there machine calibrated.

Here is an inside tip from a person I know thats very big into alingment, and balancing tires. There are inherent flaws in tires and wheels that make them off blance one way or the other. somtimes the wheel and tire can get put on just righ, so both of them are in the same spot, and it makes it so that tires just can't be balanced right- I would just ask a shop to take the tires off the rims, re-mount them, and then re balnce them. Try it, hopfuly it helps.

I appreciate the feedback. I'll try and get it into the shop tomorrow if I can get a few things back together. I'm trying to get a bunch of leaves and such from out of the venting in front of the winshield. Nothing I do comes easy and always taxes my patience.
