Cost to replace front diff

(besides 'do it yourself' and can't for various reasons) I am shopping around on how much it will cost to replace the front diff with a rebuilt one. Anyone have this done and how much was it? Anyone own a shop and what would you charge or what is reasonable to expect?

Apparently there is an extensions piece sy ty's have which is unique and can be reused....anything else unique to keep an eye out for?

Will share the quotes I get when they call back tomorrow.

Then find a shop to swap it out if you can't do it yourself.. Your correct about the pass side axle tube.. Just swap out the 4x4 one for the one off of your truck..

Interesting you bring this up. The previous owner sent me on my way with a junkyard S10 differential knowing this diff was on its way out and yea they didn't get nearly the use. We don't know the gear ratio though. Thanks!

So lock one side of the diff in place(that normally goes to a wheel). Spin the driveshaft input 3.42 turns and note how much the free side of the axle output moves. You should get 2 complete rotations if its a 3.42 diff..

Call RPM. I got mine for $300 and had Aamco R&R it for $100. And they give a warranty on install.
