I digged up this thread for some research.

TYTILIDIE: Do you still got the stock waterpump with this setup? Reverse flow with the stock pumpwheel, not a problem?

Or input from someone else that has done this mod.

This modification DOES NOT change the direction that the water pump pulley rotates. This is my bud's truck after I did this mod on his this past summer:

As mentioned earlier, there is not much belt contact between the belt and the water pump pulley. I would NOT recommend this if you still have the mechanical fan.

Hogging out the bracket for the turnbuckle would have been a royal PITA if I didn't own a set of carbide burrs. Modifying the bracket was the most time consuming part.

I agree totally with what mike said above... the water pump rotation doesn't change and there isn't much contact with the belt but it's enough if you have electric fan(s)

I was really pleased with this mod because it opened up my engine by soo much and helps it look cleaner in my opinion... I was running the delete pulley prior and was really glad to lose that and the entire bracket and heavy tensioner setup.

Did either of you guys take a pic of your bracket after you were done cutting on it, before you reinstalled it?

Sorry guys I jsut saw this. Mike is right, dont do it witht the Mech fan. Defiantely worth it though to get rid of EVERYTHING on the pass side of the motor. Mike, I tried to get my sleeves made like that the machine shop I went to said theyld have to order it and it wouldve taken like 2 weeks or something, Im jealous

yeah...just realized that ...the belt is on the OTHER side of the fan wheel compared to stock....

Heh even though it don't look like much, I have $50 just in those two heim joints (actually $100 since I got a pair for my bud as well as myself) alone since I went with a stainless steel housing, stainless steel bearings and teflon liner. The plus is I have a left hand 3/8 - 24 tap now so, I can make all that I want

. Made a few other items with it so far so, it has already "paid" for itself.

Shit! Didn't even know your truck was in the 10's already? :rotf: :rotf: :rotf:

If i was going to a set-up like that it would be with billet specialties brackets and mounts. Why cut up good brackets like mine unless it was to break or something.
