4l80E Sy/Ty Value

Does putting in a 4L80E raise the value of your truck, or is it just piece of mind?? Could you sell it for more to help justify the swap? How much more could you get if it does raise the value of your truck?

Just wondering.

The 4L80e is the trans you put in if you want a reliable streep/strip truck. You do not do ANY mods to these in the hopes of reselling it for more money. A turbo and downpipe is 2/3 the price of an 80e trans and kit. The turbo may add a little value but not the value of the entire price paid for the turbo. The 80e will make it more desireable IMHO because the trans won't be an issue for the next owner. But, yeah, the guys that are putting 80e's in don't plan on getting rid of their trucks any time soon. The 80e kinda opens up the fun end of ownership.

how much more work is putting in an 80E in place of the stock 4l60 in the truck? if it just bolt up or what, does the trans need to be modified externaly or internaly

You got that right. At this point and time if someone is shelling out between $5000 to $6000 to make the conversion they probably don't intend to sell the truck anytime soon IMHO. It will raise the value of the truck but nowhere near what you will end up having to pay to make the conversion
