200 4r

Has anyone ever tried the 200 4r trans. in our trucks? Just exploring some options.

Isn't the 200-R4 the weaker sibling of the 700-R4?

200R4 has a one piece case... no removable tail housing so theres no place to bolt the xfer case unless you do some SERIOUS fabbing/modding.

Prolly WAY cheaper to do a built 4L80E and end up with a better/stronger set up in the end.

Dave,

GNs/TRs come stock with the BRF 200R4 and they are plenty stout. Even more so with some upgraded internals. I know they've went LOW 10s on 200s and possibly high 9s but I cant document going the 9s thing right off.


Update: Ms myclone says Scott somebody went high 9s on a 200R4 as she keeps up with the buick board more than me (dont ya just love chics who are into cars!!! ).

That is not unusual at all

200R4's have seen 9's in buicks ( have and will ). They are really pushing the limits though.


I would like to BS with some one who has done a 4L80E in a sy. AWD ofcourse
